Rosyth Villa v Cairneyhill        30 Sept 06  0-3

After last weeks disappointing Scottish Cup result, it was back to league business.
Villa have been flying high since the start of the season and started as favourites. Cairneyhill were at full strength for the first time in weeks and took the game to the home side.
The first period was evenly matched with both sides playing good football. The only clear cut chances being a missed penalty for Cairney and an open goal chance at the other end.
The deadlock was finally broken in the second period with Keith scoring a double after some aggressive play by the midfield setting him on his way.
Keith completed his hatrick in the third period as Villa chased the game.
Overall, this was the best performance of the season so far and the boys should be pleased with there fighting qualities.
First clean sheet of the season!!

Cairneyhill  v  Inverkeithing      7 Oct 06  4-2

Looking to build on lasts weeks superb result, Cairneyhill started the better side hitting the post and a good save by the opposition keeper kept it 0-0 at the break.
Craig opened the scoring with a good strike into the keepers bottom right corner. This was after apparently diving earlier in the game (or was it the same sniper from last weeks game up in the trees).
The opposition drew level shortly after. Keith restored the lead  after a flick from Ryan only to be pegged back again at 2-2. Keith then scored again after taking the ball for a mazy run. Tempers began to flair on both sides as Cairney pushed for another goal to seal the victory. Again it was Keith who scored his second hat-trick in two games.
Cairneyhill passed the ball superbly at times which is what will be needed against better opposition.
Good all round performance from Ross at back to the strikers up front.
Must mention the antics of one of the opposition coaches who seemed to lose the plot at times and surely did not help with his players development within the game.

Cairneyhill   V   Rothes Town 14 0ct 06  14-0

This friendly was a chance to keep match fit and try people in different positions. Against a weak Rothes Town it wasn`t long before Cairney began to dominate. A couple of goals in the first 5 mins knocked the spirit out of Rothes, which allowed the passing game to develop. Goals followed from the following players, Steven (4), Curtis (2), Euan (2), Scott (2), Rhys (1), Scott R (1), Aiden (1), og (1). It is hard in Development football to keep the score down in a one sided match, when everybody wants on the score sheet. We all remember the Markinch game, but full credit to the oposition who kept playing to the end.

Rothes Juniors   V   Cairneyhill   28 Oct  0-4

Another friendly before the league starts next week. Cairney made hard work of the first period as they struggled with the muddy pitch. After scoring first they found themselves 2-1 down. The second period saw an improvement with Cairney starting to pull away.Goals from Keith, Hendy,Craig and Steven saw Cairney run out convincing winners.

Cairneyhill  V  Glenrothes Stroller Colts  4th Oct  8-0

Back to league business for Cairney against the Stroller Colts.
With both teams looking to pass the ball the sides were evenly matched at the start.Cairney opened the scoring when new striker Scott Duncan ran at the defence and  thundered a shot past the keeper to score his first for the club.
Colts drew level soon afterwards.
Cairneys midfield began to take a grip on the game in the second period, at last doing what there told and playing the ball out wide. This stretched the Colts defence allowing the strikers to run at goal. With the score 4-1 after the second period with two goals from Hendy and one from Steven. There was no way back for the visitors and this allowed some tactical substitutions to be made.
Further goals followed as Steven completed his hat-trick, a double from super sub Euan and a header from Scott R.
Overall this was an excellent performance from the boys which should give them a massive boost ahead of nexts weeks trip to Markinch.
They should now believe they can hold there own against any team in the league.

Markinch   V   Cairneyhill   11th Nov 06  11-1

This game had it all, goals, sending off, wild tackles and a poor referee. But thats enough about Markinch.
At times during this match Cairney competed well, but up against a bigger stronger home side it was always going to be difficult. Bit of dodgy defending and the inability to get the ball forward from the centre circle resulted in pressure being put on the boys at the back.
Cairney had a couple of chances but struggled in the heavy ground conditions.
Overall 11 lucky chances for the home side and screamer from Scott R.
The team have to learn from this game and look forward to the next game
Keep the heads up for next week.

Elgin Star   V   Cairneyhill   18th Nov 06  1-7

After lasts weeks disappointment Cairney needed to get back to winning ways.
A hat-trick for Keith after 15 minutes meant it was always going to be tough for Elgin.Cairney dominated all areas of the pitch with some nice passing at times. Hendy popped up with another double but could have had a hat-trick after being pulled down in the box, only to blast the kick wide. His second was the pick of the day with a left foot volley.
Elgin pulled one back but goals from Rhys and Scott D secured the win. Elgin had a chance to snatch a second but a great penalty save from Scott R who dived down to his right to stop the shot.
Cairney played well and could have won by a greater margin.

Cairneyhill   V   St Johns  26th Nov 06 (Friendly)  6-1

This was the fourth meeting between the two teams with Cairney looking for their first win. Cairney started slowly as usual but managed to score first against St Johns. The visitors took the game to Cairney and ten minutes of severe pressure resulted in an equaliser. Cairney responded right from the kick off, and three passes later scored to go 2-1 up.
A team talk at the break resulted in a more positive attitude, with some good passing football opening the visitors defence time and again. Cairney pulled away further to put the game out of the reach of a tiring St Johns team.
Goals from Keith(2) Hendy, Ryan,Scott D and an o.g gave Cairney a convincing win. Good display from the boys but they need to attack right from the start and not let the oposition settle.

Cairneyhill   V   Glenrothes Strollers  3 Feb   3-0

Games between these two teams are always close and this one was no different.
Cairneyhill had The Strollers pinned back in there own half for most of the first period and should have been two or three up. Scott D ran at the defence and hit a cracking shot over the head of the keeper.
The second period was pretty even with Cairney missing most of the chances, although the defence had the game under control with Aiden marking the Strollers threat out of the game. The Strollers missed a penalty when Johno ran out and fouled there striker.
Plenty of fire works in the last period with the Strollers pushing for the equaliser,
Rhys was sent for an early bath for a challenge that sounded worse than it was, with Jonno saving the penalty, Cairney raced up the other end with Hendy grabbing the second to calm the nerves. With the ball now getting out to the wings Ryan turned a couple of defenders and hit a cracking shot over the keeper.
Overall a good performance from everybody and the game should have been over after the first twenty. Good 3-0 win

Leven Boys   V   Cairneyhill   10th March  3-0

After a two week gap, and up against a well organised Leven team Cairney found it tough to match the speed and the direct approach of Leven. Three goals down after 10 mins was always going to be tough. After the first period it was a much closer match with neither team looking like scoring. Not many plus points in this game but a good penalty save from Scott his second of the season.

Cairneyhill   V   Rosyth Villa   17th March 07  3-4

This is a game Cairney should have won easily, playing in difficult conditions and kicking with the wind first period, most of the play was in the Villa half.
With the score 0-0 after the first period Villa had the advantage but it was Cairney who scored first with a cracking penalty from Keith. Villa equalised shortly after.
Cairney again went ahead with another goal from Hendy. It all started to go wrong from then on with a couple of defensive errors which allowed Villa to take the lead. With Villa two goals up they were able to kill the game helped by indicipline from Cairneyhill. Keith pulled one back at the death but it was to late.
It will be hard for the remainder of the season if the boys blame each other when a goal is lost, heads go down and players are afraid of making mistakes.
Players must learn to win and lose as a team.
A good example was Paul Robinson`s goal against Watford, it can happen to anybody.

Fife Cup  Hillfield   V   Cairneyhill 24th March  3-2

One of Cairneyhills best games of the season so far but again they came up short. Took the lead when Keith headered in from a well taken corner from Craig. Hillfield pushed for the equaliser and scored against the run of play.
Both teams were playing some good football. Cairney again took the lead when Keith popped up to score a tricky header.
Again Hillfield equalised. A misunderstanding at the back allowed Hillfield to lob the keeper from 20 yards. Cairney kept piling on the pressure and kept Hillfield pinned back in there own half for the last 10  minutes. Hendy sent in a header that hit the bar at the end with the keeper beaten.
Overall a very good performance and for the second time lost by a single goal.

Glenrothes Stroller Colts Vs Cairneyhill  0-3

The first half was close after Keith opened the scoring and it took us a until the second period before we scored again the first was a perfect lob by Ross and he got his second when he got to the ball first and slotted it home. The game was poor and strollers brought us down to there level a disappointing game but a good result all the same.

Cairneyhill Vs Hillfield

Cairney finaly got the monkey off there backs by beating Hilfield, It started of well with a sweet left foot volley by Ryan followed by another screamer from Alex (aka Hendy) at the end of the first period Hilfield pulled back a good goal from outside the box. The second period didn't start so good with Hilfield leveling the scoring. Keith scored with a powerful header and again Hilfield pulled it back. It looked like we weren't going to win it until Euan (super sub) came on and scored a goal within seconds of coming on, he again popped up from a corner with a good header. The last goal was from Keith who took the ball from our half and ran all the way to there box (the ball hit a divot) and fired it in.  An excellent performane by all and lets take it in to our next game.

Cairneyhill Vs Wemyss Area  3rd May 07  2-2

This was going to be Cairneys hardest game of the season so far.
The match started with Cairney taking the game to Wemyss and good early pressure led to a great volley by Keith. Cairney again pushed Wemyss back towards their goal and a shot from Craig from the edge of the box put Cairney two up. Wemyss were stunned and resorted to underhanded tactics, hacking and diving.
The second period resulted in a fightback from the visitors, having pushed Cairney deep into there own box they scrammbled a couple of quick goals.
Cairney showed great character and refused to give up, which they might have previously done in the past.
Curtis came closest in the third period with a mazy run and then a diving header which the keeper did well to push by the post.
The visitors received a soft penalty when there forward did a perfect Swan dive that even Drogba would have been proud off.
The resulting spot kick landed somewhere near Kincardine.
A draw was probably a fair result, it was a pity Wemyss showed some of the games darker side.
A great result for Cairneyhill, there is now a belief that they can get a result against anyone

Cairneyhill   V   Elgin Star  5th May 07   5-2

Cairneyhill were looking to build on Thursdays good performance, but changes to the side meant it was a dour struggle against the bottom side.
Went one up early in the game through Keith, won the game in the last period with 2 goals from super sub Euan and 2 goals from Keith.
Maybe not a day for experiments with hard games coming up.

Cairneyhill   V   Bayside  10th May 07  3-4

This was a bit of a shocker against a team that Cairneyhill should be beating.
Cairney started the stronger and went 1 up after the keeper let a shot from Keith slip through his hands. Bayside then took the upper hand with the Cairney defense struggling to deal with the big Bayside forwards.
Cairney found themselves three down after the second period. It was now damage limitation with Cairney having all the pressure in the last period they managed to pull two goals back through Keith and Euan.
Good fightback but need to convert the chances made.

Wemyss Area   V   Cairneyhill  12th May 07

This match was abandoned after a pitch invasion by a  local pretending to be a REFEREE.
Cairneyhill were 6-0 up in offside decisions alone, and with the Wemyss players wearing stealth strips they were able to nip under the radar and shoot on site.
Johno pulled of a great save early on but then the game decended into a farce. The question has to be asked ? What is the point!!!

Cairneyhill   V   Blue Brazil   21st May 07 2-4

Cairnehills first game against the Blue Brazil for a couple of seasons, the team were looking to put in a good performance against the new league champions.
With Cairney playing good football they had the visitors on the run in the first period, Keith volleyed a superb effort past the out stretched keeper.
The visitors re-grouped after the break and scored two quick goals after they split the Cairney defence through the middle.
Cairney lost another goal at the start of the third period and lost a bit of composure which allowed the visitors to take command of the game.
A last throw of the dice by the coach to get a goal back resulted in Ali doing what he was told for the first time ever. He out jumped the defence to bullet a header into the top corner.
The game was played in a good spirit and will be looking forward to the re-match.

Bayside   V   Cairneyhill   2-3

Revenge was on the minds here after losing so easily last time.
With a new look back four of Scott D and Rhys sent on to try and deal with the huge forward line of Bayside, they failed to cut out a pass which resulted in the home side taking the lead.
As the game wore on Cairney out played there opponents and dealt with any threat the home team posed. Although up against a team that only booted the ball as high as they could Cairney eventually equalised through Keith.
It looked like it was going to be one of those days in front of goal, but another couple of goals from Keith put Cairney 3-1 up.
Some strong tackling from Cairney gave them command of the game although Bayside pulled another back close to the end.
All credit to Cairney who held on to break there losing streak and it was a good display against a team that did not try to pass the ball.
